How inset works

Inset cabinetry refers to face-frame cabinets with the door set inside the face frame so it sits flush with the front of the cabinet—instead of overlaying the face frame or cabinet box, as is typical for other cabinet types. This is achieved with special hinges (hidden or decorative) and by meticulously fitting the door inside the frame opening. Proper fit is critical to keep doors from sticking or showing uneven gaps.
